Inquiry into STEM and science concepts should continue to be part of your weekly routine. This will be be a more independent activity, and you should take this time to learn about something you're interested in. Learning might look like doing experiments, watching videos, reading about a topic, or other alternative learning methods. You can write something about what you learned, or make a video, slideshow, poster, or any other kind of project to show me what you've been learning about. If you try any of the things I suggest during the week, please send me a message and/or pictures/videos of what you did to my email at [email protected].
Week 5: Simple Machines
Did you know that the roller coaster you made last week involved using simple machines? We use simple machines everyday in life without really thinking about it, but they help make our life so much easier. Watch the videos below and then try to make your own simple machine (not another roller coaster) or even a Rube Goldberg project like in the last video. Make sure you use at least 1 of: pulley, wedge, lever, screw, inclined plane, wheel and axle.
