Inquiry into STEM and science concepts should continue to be part of your weekly routine. This will be be a more independent activity, and you should take this time to learn about something you're interested in. Learning might look like doing experiments, watching videos, reading about a topic, or other alternative learning methods. You can write something about what you learned, or make a video, slideshow, poster, or any other kind of project to show me what you've been learning about. If you try any of the things I suggest during the week, please send me a message and/or pictures/videos of what you did to my email at [email protected].
Week 6: Native Plants on the South Coast
Learning about native plants—plants that haven’t been moved to a location by humans from somewhere else—is a great way to learn about the place you call home. Studying native plants in British Columbia is also a chance to learn about Indigenous knowledge of the plants where you live.
The Royal BC Museum has put together a great and really interesting resource about native plants on the south coast. Follow the link below to see pictures, watch videos, and read about the native plants in the region in which we live.
Send me an email or comment on the Google Classroom assignment with something you've learned.
