Students should aim to complete 20-45 minutes of math work daily. Each day can follow a routine like we would in the classroom (below), or you can make up whatever routine works best for you. Math work can be submitted by scanning or taking a picture and submitting through Google Classroom or by emailing me at [email protected]

Each week of the Daily Math will have students working on the 5 stands of math. If there are non-school days (ie. holidays) they should still try to complete those days when they have extra time to ensure they are practicing all types of math each week.

Use a new page for each day of the week and take a picture each day or at the end of the week of the week of all your work. You can submit these assignments through Google Classroom, or email them to me at [email protected]. Use the number of the day guide with example, the template, and/or the fillable document when completing the number of the day.
Monday: Number of the day: 7210 Task: Find some small materials like cubes or rocks or coins at home. Create an increasing (growing) or decreasing pattern with them. What is the pattern rule? Draw and label your pattern. Create a table to represent your pattern. Worksheet:Algebra Word Problems 3
Tuesday: Number of the day: 8035 Task: Measure the perimeter of the top or face of a table or box in your home. Can you find something that is not a square or rectangle? The perimeter is the total distance around all the sides. What measuring tool and unit will you use? Find a similar shape to measure in your home and estimate whether it’s perimeter will be more or less than the shape you measured. Show what you did using pictures, numbers and words. Wednesday: Number of the day:4401 Task:Find three objects that contain a circle shape or has a circle on it. How could you measure the circles? What materials or tools could you use? How will you mark where you started measuring? The distance around a circle is called the circumference. Estimate the circumference before you measure – how do your estimates and measure compare? Thursday: Number of the day: 5892 Task: It is recommended that we stay 2 metres apart from others for proper physical distancing. How long is two metres? How many centimetres are in two metres? How many millimetres are in two metres? Find 3 things in your home that are about two metres wide or long. Record your findings.
