Students should aim to complete 20-45 minutes of math work daily. Each day can follow a routine like we would in the classroom (below), or you can make up whatever routine works best for you. Math work can be submitted by scanning or taking a picture and submitting through Google Classroom or by emailing me at [email protected]

Each week of the Daily Math will have students working on the 5 stands of math. If there are non-school days (ie. holidays) they should still try to complete those days when they have extra time to ensure they are practicing all types of math each week.

Use a new page for each day of the week and take a picture each day or at the end of the week of the week of all your work. You can submit these assignments through Google Classroom, or email them to me at [email protected]. Use the number of the day guide with example, the template, and/or the fillable document when completing the number of the day.
Monday: Number of the day: 5583 Task: Look around your home, on a website or in a book, magazine or newspaper. Where can you find fractions and decimal numbers used to communicate information? Tuesday: Number of the day: 2890 Task: Choose a number: 20, 50, 100 or 150. What different ways can count up to and down from that number? Consider counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 6s or 7s. How will you share one way you counted? What patterns do you notice? Worksheet:Skip Counting 2
Wednesday: Number of the day: 1977 Task:Choose a number: 24, 36, or 48. Think of a situation where you might share that number of something between two, three or four people in your family. It could be cookies, eggs or anything you want to write your math story about. Record your math story using pictures, numbers, symbols and words. Thursday: Number of the day: 2025 Task: Choose two fractions: 1/2, 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 3/10, 5/10, 8/10. Find at least 5 different ways to represent each fraction (pictures, numbers, ten frames, materials you have around home). How are these representations the same? How are they different?
